Hamar Laser IMTS 2026 Many Applications One Alignment Source

Hamar Laser Instruments will be back on the show floor at IMTS 2026, September 14–19, at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Visit us in Booth 134629 in the Quality Assurance Pavilion, East Building, Level 3, where our team will be demonstrating some of our newest and most versatile laser alignment systems for machine geometry, surface plate calibration and shaft alignment.

IMTS is one of the best opportunities to get hands-on with alignment equipment, see real measurements being taken and talk directly with the people who work with these applications every day.

L-743 Ultra Precision Laser Alignment System set up at IMTS 2024

See the L-743 Ultra-Precision Triple Scan® System

One of the featured systems in our booth will be the L-743 Ultra-Precision Triple Scan® Laser Alignment System.

The L-743 generates three continuously rotating laser planes that are mutually perpendicular to each other, creating precision reference planes for measuring machine geometry.

It can be used for applications including:

  • Flatness
  • Straightness
  • Squareness
  • Parallelism
  • Leveling
  • Machine-tool geometry

Because several geometric relationships can be evaluated from the same laser setup, the L-743 can reduce the need to repeatedly establish new mechanical references during a machine alignment.

For large machine tools in particular, having a laser reference that can extend across the working envelope provides a practical alternative to traditional methods involving precision levels, straightedges, autocollimators and other mechanical equipment.

Explore the L-703 Series

We will also demonstrate multiple variants of our L-703 Series, which has been developed around a wide range of industrial alignment applications.

Depending on the system configuration, L-703 systems can be used for applications involving:

  • Bore alignment
  • Extruder alignment
  • Machine-tool alignment
  • Roll-machine alignment
  • Lathe alignment
  • Spindle alignment

The L-703 Series combines long measurement ranges with high-resolution electronic targets, allowing users to monitor alignment changes in real time while making adjustments.

That immediate feedback can make it easier to identify the source of an alignment problem and confirm that corrections are moving the machine in the right direction.

L-703SP Surface Plate Calibration System

See the L-703SP Surface Plate Calibration System

Our L-703SP Surface Plate Calibration System will also be on display.

The L-703SP provides a laser-based method for checking surface plate flatness and performing calibration measurements. Unlike traditional electronic-level procedures that require measurements to be taken across an entire plate, the L-703SP works with our Plane6 software to simplify data collection and analysis.

We will also be showing new developments for the L-703SP, including Lapping Line View™ and our new A-703SP-LM-M Mirrored Surface-Plate Mounting Fixture.

These additions are designed to make surface plate inspection and resurfacing work faster and more practical, especially when space around the plate is limited.

X-Series Laser Shaft Alignment

X-Series™ Shaft Alignment Systems

Visitors will also be able to see our X-Series™ Shaft Alignment Systems, designed for precision shaft alignment across a wide range of rotating equipment.

The X-Series combines rugged alignment hardware with Windows-based software and modern graphical workflows intended to simplify the alignment process from initial measurement through final correction.

For maintenance teams working with pumps, motors, compressors and other rotating machinery, the systems provide a fast way to identify angular and offset misalignment and guide the user through the required corrections.

Bring Us Your Alignment Application

One of the biggest advantages of a show like IMTS is the opportunity to discuss your actual application.

If you are dealing with a difficult machine geometry problem, rebuilding equipment, trying to shorten an alignment procedure or evaluating a new measurement method, bring the application to us.

Our team can help you determine which measurement approach makes sense and demonstrate how the equipment works.
